I was watching TV Mobile today, and I saw this really lame channel 8 show. There was Moses Lim and Chen (or Huang or something else) Jian Bing dressed up as women and pretending to be women. Right. So Chen (whatever) Jian Bing, Moses Lim and Jack Neo may have been the second generation comedian kings (first generation kings were the fat and thin duo), BUT now, only Jack Neo remains talented. Correction. Jack Neo was groomed by Moses Lim. So he should be the 2.5 generation.

Anyway, honestly, what's the big deal man? Jack Neo created Liang Po Po, and she/he became a hit. Then he created Liang Si Mei and she he too became a hit. So with the spirit of lifelong learning, Moses Lim and Chen Huang Jian Bing learned from their junior, and came out with women who are actually men too! How irritating!

Worst. 8 days slam Jack Neo for his copycat variety shows but leave Moses Lim and oh whatever Jian Bing's slapstick variety/comedy shows alone. Yo. Some people have eyes here. Copycat may be true. But quality is there. The second generation's jokes are the I-fell-so-you-must-laugh sort. It isn't funny! Why are they still allowed to air?

I have no idea what Moses Lim had success in ever. Chen Huang Jian Bing wrote the legendary Kopitiam show. But those are sooooooo long over. And you are now going huh? what show is that? See! It was shown in the 70s! History. Ancient. What worked then WILL NOT work now.

Can we have some wits please? Some intelligent humour. And not those sickening puns either. Which reminds me. I once heard Chen Huang Jian Bing over the radio, and heard him make "funny" jokes over puns, with his poor partner DJ laughing to humour him. Has anyone heard Mary Bukoh? SHE is the new-generation DJ. The one in vogue. The one with brains, and more than just slapstick to offer. But oh dear me. What happened? Chen Huang Jian Bing won the Chinese radio personality of the year! Sick. This just makes me conclude man. Have time, no brains. Have brains, no time.

I can easily tell you. We'll never get a 10 year running comedy in Singapore of Friends quality. Gao Xiao Xing Dong did run for 10 years. But even Jack Neo knew when to stop. Too bad. The fat one and the short one don't.
